Frontline Bible Church

Worship Service

What is a Church?

Is it a Building?
Is it a Religious Organisation?
Is it a Pious Social Club?

None of the above!

A Church is a group of people:

  • believing in the Lord Jesus Christ for forgiveness of sins through His death on a cross
  • receiving a new spiritual life through His resurrection from the dead
  • seeking to keep day to day living under the control of that spiritual life
  • trying to show the love and compassion of Jesus in a mis-guided and confused world
  • looking forward to the return in triumph of the Lord Jesus Christ

And THE Church is the worldwide fellowship of all such groups, regardless of the denominational label they adopt .
Until early in 2006, we were called Frontline Bible Church. The name was changed to identify more clearly with the South Wales village in which our building is located and where our main community services operate. However, we have not changed our vision, or our purposes and outlook.

We at Aberkenfig Bible Church are a Church in the New Testament mode serving Jesus Christ and in word and deed bringing His Good News to those around us. We seek to show the love and compassion of Jesus in action - to children, families, the old, the perplexed, the bereaved, and the sick. Our vision is not just for Aberkenfig, but extends to Bridgend County Borough, to Wales, to Britain, and to the World.

We are independent of any denomination or group, but we are members of the Evangelical Alliance.

You will find on these pages details of some of our beliefs, history, meetings and activities. Please come and visit us.
You'll find us in the old Lyric Cinema, Pandy Road, Aberkenfig, near Bridgend, South Wales

Why "Bible Church"?
In these days we hear differing opinions about life, ethics, morals, society, the world, and the universe; which can be very confusing.  At Aberkenfig Bible Church we base our beliefs and preaching firmly on the teaching of the Bible which we consider to be the revealed Word of God. Unlike changing opinion, this Word has stood the test of time. Along with many others down through the ages, we have found by personal experience that:

* "Your Word is a lamp to my feet, a light to my path"
* "How can a young person clean up their act? By taking notice of
.......Your Word"
* "In my distress I cried to the Lord, and He heard me"
* "Whoever hears these words of Mine and does them is like a wise
.......man who built his house on a rock."

Five Little Orphans
[Missions] Uganda
Mike and Rosemary’s orphanage at the moment consists of 5 children that they have taken in.  They could take in more but the building for the orphanage is yet to be constructed…thus they have a small house next to their home where the children sleep (in the same compound).  The children all attend school and work on the property as you can see from the photos.  This is a great work.  3 of the 5 were HIV when they came and now they are not!  God has healed them!  They were not .....
